Monastère de Solan

The Solan Monastery is home to an Orthodox Christian community established in Gard since 1992.

Seventeen nuns live, work and pray here. Religious services follow the rites of the Byzantine faith. The nuns grow organic produce under the guidance of Pierre Rabhi and the principles of creation.

They transform the harvest themselves and sell their produce (wine, jam fruit jellies, etc.) as well as books and icons.
